SOME BASIC TAROT KNOWLEDGE I WENT OVER IN CLASS (OF COURSE ALWAYS REFER TO YOUR PERSONAL NOTES YOU TOOK DURING CLASS TOO!):
WHAT TAROT ACTUALLY IS:
Key reframe- Tarot is not solely a prediction tool, it’s pattern recognition + intuition + subconscious translation.
Tarot mirrors:
your nervous system
your subconscious
your soul timeline
You don't just learn Tarot, you remember how to listen to your soul.

TAROT STRUCTURE:
Major Arcana = Life themes, karmic moments, big chapters.
Minor Arcana = Your daily life

Wands – fire – desire, creation, purpose
Cups – water – emotions, relationships
Swords – air – mind, stories, anxiety, clarity
Pentacles – earth – body, money, home, work
Court Cards = People & parts of you
Page = learning
Knight = doing
Queen = embodying, feminine
King = mastering, masculine

NUMEROLOGY:
Ace (1) – spark / seed / new beginning
2 – polarity / choice / relationship / balance
3 – growth / creativity / communication / expansion / community
4 – foundation
5 – disruption / conflict / change
6 – harmony / releasing negativity / balance
7 – challenge / spirituality
8 – power / money / abundance
9 – culmination / endings / almost over
10 – overflow / reset / endings / new beginnings

UPRIGHT VS REVERSED:
Reversals are not inherently “bad.” They just may mean blocked energy and/or the opposite of the upright meaning.

POWERFUL QUESTIONS + BOUNDARIES:
Instead of:
“Will I get back with him?”
Ask:
“What is my soul being asked to learn about this connection right now?”
My Personal Reading Boundaries (take it or leave it):
No health/legal/pregnancy predictions
You are a guide, not a god.

BASIC DECK CARE + PROTECTION:
Knock
Breathe
Shuffle with intention
Wipe off the energy
Smoke cleanse or sound cleanse
Leave under the Sun or Moonlight
Protection phrase:
“Only energies aligned with truth and clarity may come through this deck.”

HOW TAROT CARDS "TALK" TO EACH OTHER:
Tarot is not only about individual card meanings, it’s about the conversation happening between them.
Here are some ways to read the dynamic of a spread:
Dominant Card Energy:
Is there a Major Arcana card that feels louder than the rest?
Is one card visually or energetically sticking out as the main theme?
Pay attention to...
-
Major vs. Minor Arcana balance
-
The card on top of the spread
-
The bottom of the deck (overall energy)
-
The card your eyes keep going back to

There is usually a “leader” in the story.

Repeating Elements or Suits:
Are there multiple cards from the same suit? (Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles?)
Is there a repeating element like fire, water, air, or earth?
Repetition amplifies themes. It shows you what area of life is being emphasized.

Leading Cards (The Storyline Technique):
Lay the cards out and ask:
-
Who feels like they’re at the front of the line?
-
Who’s second?
-
Who’s third?
You can follow the spread like a trail and watch the narrative unfold.
Sometimes one card is stepping forward while others are reacting to it. This creates movement and progression in the reading.
The “Lone Messenger” Card:
Not every card has to connect to the others.
Sometimes one card stands alone — almost like a side note or direct message from Spirit.
Some cards are woven into the story.
Some are independent downloads.
Both are valid.

INTUITIVE TECHNIQUES:
Tarot is symbolic — but it’s also energetic.
Trust the First Intuitive Hit:
Sometimes you’ll receive a feeling, image, word, or knowing before the traditional meaning comes to mind.
Maybe...
-
You see a flash of a memory
-
You feel something in your chest
-
A random phrase pops into your head
Start there.
Follow that trail.
The traditional meaning can support you — but intuition often opens the door first.
Do a Body Check:
Ask yourself: Where do I feel this card?
-
In your throat?
-
In your stomach?
-
In your chest?
-
In your back?

Your body is part of your intuitive system.
Let it guide you.

BUILDING YOUR READER CONFIDENCE:
Confidence as a Tarot reader is one of the biggest things that separates a hesitant beginner from someone who delivers clear, impactful readings. But first, let’s redefine what confidence actually means.

Reader confidence does not mean:
-
Knowing every single Tarot card by heart
-
Being perfect in every reading
-
Never feeling nervous before reading
-
Always getting everything “right”
-
Sounding overly mystical, polished, or impressive
-
Never having moments of uncertainty

If you’re waiting to feel “fully ready” before calling yourself a confident reader, you’ll stay stuck there forever.

True confidence in Tarot reading looks like:
-
Trusting your interpretation, even when it feels subtle
-
Allowing yourself to be wrong and continuing anyway
-
Being willing to speak what you genuinely feel or sense
-
Letting symbolism communicate with you personally
-
Getting curious instead of shutting down when something doesn’t immediately make sense
-
Moving through uncertainty instead of freezing in it
-
Getting out of your own way

Confidence is not perfection. Confidence is trust in yourself.

Now, reading for yourself can actually be one of the trickiest things because your emotions, desires, fears, and overthinking can all get involved.

When reading for yourself, confidence looks like:
-
Trusting your first impressions (as long as you have the awareness if that first thought is fear based or not)
-
Letting your intuition speak before immediately reaching for the guidebook
-
Not second-guessing every interpretation
-
Allowing symbolism, emotion, and energetic impressions to come through naturally
-
Understanding that confidence is built through repetition, not instant mastery
The more you practice, the quieter your inner critic becomes.

Reading for other people brings a different kind of vulnerability- because now there’s another human being sitting across from you, reacting in real time.

Confidence with others looks like:
-
Holding strong energetic boundaries
-
Staying grounded in your own energy instead of absorbing theirs
-
Not fishing for validation every two seconds (“Does that make sense? … Are you sure? … Maybe not?”)
-
Speaking clearly and directly about what you’re seeing
-
Staying calm if someone looks confused, emotional, or quiet
-
Trusting that not every message will make sense immediately
-
Remembering that your role is to interpret, not perform
-
Not over apologizing. Removing the "Um's and IDKs" out of your vocab. You are smart enough and you have nothing to apoligize for. Silence is okay. Asking for reassurance is okay.

The best Tarot readers I know are not the ones trying to sound the most mystical or “perfect.”
They are the ones who are authentically themselves.
They show up with pure intentions.
They genuinely want to help.
They trust what comes through.
They don’t overperform spirituality.
Some of the most powerful, psychic, jaw-dropping readings I’ve ever given happened when I completely got out of my own way and allowed the information to flow naturally.
That’s the real secret.
Your intuition gets louder when your self-doubt gets quieter.

PS: if you are trying to predict the future with Tarot- remember that timelines are changing constantly.
